Made in an optics lab, the glasses from New Zealand company Block Blue Light are my pick for eye protection. Founder Daniel Ebbett's story was much like my own, having begun his journey tortured by screen-induced insomnia and migraines. The products that resulted from extensive research and development are what you see above. Their company offers a range of different lenses, prescription and non-prescription, in a number of frame styles. As natural blue light is important for brain function during the day but sabotages our circadian rhythm in the evenings, Block Blue Light has two daytime lenses (Clear and Yellow) for reduced blue light, and two nighttime lenses (Amber and Red) for stronger evening protection against screens and environmental lights.
